SHAHUPURI MADHYAMIK VIDYALAYA SHAHUPURI, SATARA
Shahupuri Madhyamik Vidyalaya is a secondary school run by the Rashtriya Ekatmata Vikas Karyasangha, Shahupuri, Satara. The school first received government approval to conduct classes for 8thand 9th standards in September 1991, followed by approval for classes for 5th to 7th standards in June 1996. At present, the school provides education from classes V to X. A total of 255 students are enrolled in the current academic year—136 boys and 119 girls. Most of these students come from the families of farmers, laborers, and economically weaker sections in rural and slum areas. To ensure that education remains accessible, almost all students are provided free education.Daily rituals at the school reflect a balance of discipline, patriotism, and cultural. Each day begins with recitation of the National Anthem, National Pledge, Maharashtra Geet, and Pasayadan. After all academic and extra-curricular activities, the day concludes with the recitation of Vande Mataram. The school is notable for working one hour longer than the government’s prescribed schedule. This additional time is dedicated to guiding students in difficult subjects, with special attention given to academically weaker students—sometimes even through private home tutoring. Instruction is provided in both Marathi (mother tongue) and semi-English medium, ensuring students can learn effectively while also being exposed to English.
